SecureSphere CAPTCHA, a component of ThreatRadar Bot Protection Service, keeps automated software from engaging in abusive activities on your website. It does this while letting valid users continue with their web activities. SecureSphere Bot Protection conducts a completely automated test that classifies users as either bots, humans or a third category referred to as unknown. Adding CAPTCHA enhances ThreatRadar Bot Protection services to better distinguish human users from automated traffic. It helps weed out users that are classified as malicious bots due to abnormal browser setup (an event that may occur rarely), allow human users to continue browsing the protected site, and block malicious bots. In addition, CAPTCHA can also help weed out automation that is running in the browser, which is triggered when a human user is believed to be behaving maliciously.
SecureSphere CAPTCHA offers an Event Based model for implementation that integrates Google ReCAPTCHA. This model defines the events that trigger a CAPTCHA challenge that is then presented to the end user. The policy also prevents access to the protected resources until users successfully answer the challenge. The challenge is displayed only when the current page is changed (via page reload or navigation action). When suspicious activity is detected, the configured action and followed action is applied and an alert is issued.
