       Understanding Track Value Changes Reports

      Track Value Changes reports list changes made to data within the database, and view correlated information to provide insight to what data has been changed, and what users made the changes.

      A number of report definitions are available for Track Value Changes Active Modules which reports on various aspects of values that have been changed. For example, you may want to list all changes to made outside of working hours over the past week. For a complete list of all available report definitions, see System Events Reports.

      EXAMPLE: Reporting on Changes Outside of Working Hours

      This example describes how to generate a report that shows all changes made to values in databases outside of working hours. This can assist you in searching for suspicious or malicious activity.

      1. Create an Active Module > Track Value Changes report as described in Creating a Report.
      2. Select the report you just created from the Reports pane. Its details are displayed in the Configuration pane.
      3. In the Data Scope tab, add the Change in Past X Days field by clicking its green arrow . The Change in Past X Days field is moved up to the Enabled Fields pane.
      4. Click the plus sign (+) next to the field. Its options are displayed.
      5. In the Last field, type 7. This displays items that have been detected as being changed outside of working hours over the last 7 days.
      6. In the Tabular tab, add the following columns:
        • Site
        • Server Group
        • IP Address
        • Object
        • Object Type
        • Time Stamp
        • Modification
      7. From the upper right-hand side of the window, click .
      8. From the General Details tab, click Run Report Now. The report is run. Once complete a dialog box opens enabling you to open the generated report.
