      Configuring DB2-400 Query Length

       Configuring DB2-400 Query Length

Starting with SecureSphere v13.1, you can configure the length of the query statement as either short (256 characters) or long (4000 characters). The long query length enables the parsing of firewall events from the v13.1 Agent (and later).

Note: If you configure the DB2-400 Agent for the long query statement, you may experience a performance degradation due to the increase in parsed data.

The default setting is for the short query statement.

To configure the DB2-400 agent query length:

      1. Disable the log collector. For more information, see Configuring Log Collector.
      2. Access the AS400 Agent. The Login window appears.

      3. Type values for the User and the Password and hit Enter. The Main Screen appears.

      4. Type the STRISA command on the command line. The main menu appears.

      5. Type 81 and hit Enter. The System Configuration window appears.

      6. Verify that the Release ID is 2.10 or later.
      7. Type 1 and hit Enter. The General Definitions window appears.

      8. The default value of SQL Reporting attributes is 1 (standard length). To set it to long length, select the number 1, type 2, and hit Enter.
      9. Hit F3 or Enter to return to the main window.
      10. Hit Enter again to save the changes.
      11. Re-enable the log collector.
